Dead trees, hazard trees, disease, storm damage. Our Tyler crew, free on-site quote, same-week scheduling. Same-day for storms and hazards.
Takes 20 seconds. We'll call back to schedule the on-site look.
Dead trees. Dead wood is unpredictable. Limbs break with no warning, especially in wind. Whole trees fall. If you have a dead tree within reach of the house, driveway, fence, power lines, or where people spend time — front porch, patio, playground — get it removed. Cost of removal is a fraction of the cost of one big limb through the roof.
Disease with no recovery. Oak wilt (confirmed by arborist), advanced pine bark beetle infestation, severe root rot with lean — some conditions have no fix. Removal stops the disease from spreading to healthy trees and eliminates the risk of the trunk failing.
Storm damage. Trees hit by lightning, cracked in high wind, or leaning after saturated ground gave way. Some can be saved (arborist assessment first if it's a valuable tree). Many can't. See emergency tree service if it's active — imminent hazard.
Foundation risk. Aggressive root systems too close to slab, particularly with silver maple, cottonwood, Bradford pear. Sometimes the tree is fine but the location isn't. Removal is the fix; root barriers rarely work on established trees.
Power line proximity. If a tree is in contact with primary or secondary power lines, call the utility first (Oncor for most of Tyler) — they have crews specifically for line-clearance and it's usually free. Once utility work is done, you may still want the tree fully removed if it's compromised.
Construction. New driveway, pool, foundation extension. Sometimes the tree just has to go.
Assessment (10-20 minutes). We confirm tree size, species, condition, and access. Note hazards — nearby structures, power lines, buried utilities (Texas 811 call needed for anything invasive close to lines), fence gates the truck has to go through. Discuss drop zone.
Permit check. Tyler doesn't require permits for tree removal on residential private property in most cases. HOAs sometimes do. If the tree is in the public right-of-way (between sidewalk and street), it's often the city's — homeowner cannot remove without permission. We flag this on assessment.
Removal (2-8 hours, depending on size and complexity). Small trees come down whole in one cut. Medium and large trees are taken down in sections, from the top down — climber or bucket truck removes limbs, then the trunk is cut in manageable pieces. Complex or hazardous trees may involve rigging (ropes to control the fall of each piece), which slows the job and raises the price.
Chip and debris removal. Limbs get fed to a chipper and hauled away. Trunk sections are typically cut into rounds and either hauled or left for you as firewood (mention on the form if you want them).
Stump. Removal usually leaves the stump at 6-12 inches. Grinding is a separate line item — see stump grinding. We usually bundle it if you ask.
Cleanup. Sawdust raked, small debris picked up, tire tracks checked. We leave the site cleaner than we found it.

| Emergency work (storm, on structure) | +40-100% baseline |
Extras: stump grinding $75-350, hauling trunk sections $50-150, rigging near structures $200-500 additional, after-hours emergency +50-100%.
Free on-site quote — we look at the actual tree before pricing. Full cost breakdown: /tree-service-cost/.
If a tree is actively down on your house, blocking your driveway right now, or in contact with power lines — that's different from a dead tree you've been meaning to deal with. See emergency tree service for immediate response.
$200-500 for small trees (under 30 feet), $500-1500 medium, $1500-3500 large. Very large or hazardous trees run $3500 and up. Free quote — call and we come look at the actual tree.
For residential private-property removals, usually no. HOAs sometimes require notification. Trees in the public right-of-way (between sidewalk and street) belong to the city — you cannot remove without permission. We flag any of these on the free assessment.
Small trees: 1-3 hours. Medium: half a day. Large: a full day sometimes two. Complex trees near structures or power lines take longer due to rigging.
Sometimes. If you have an arborist consultation first, we can advise on saving vs removing. A regular tree service usually just quotes the removal.
Chipped and hauled by default. If you want trunk rounds for firewood, mention it — we leave them stacked.
